Technique of the Month series: tools for calmer coaching
This spring, we launched our Technique of the Month series to share short mental skills that coaches can use in minutes, before training or even between tasks.
We introduced:
Technique #1: Square breathing (April)
A structured breathing pattern that helps reduce stress and bring attention back to the present moment. Imagine a square in your mind and travel along its sides, inhaling, holding your breath, and exhaling. Click on the link to find a visual representation of the exercise.

A simple way to slow down and reset, especially during busy weeks or demanding competition periods. Mindful breathing is a very basic yet powerful mindfulness exercise. In stressful moments, when your mind is preoccupied with negative thoughts and emotions, simple breathing can bring you back to the present moment. https://www.facebook.com/reel/1895726751173721Technique#3: Training attention to notice positive moments (August):
Each day brings a mix of experiences – some challenging, some routine, and some uplifting. This simple exercise helps you train your mind to notice the positive moments, however small they may be. By regularly focusing on what went well, you can strengthen your emotional resilience and foster a more optimistic outlook.

These techniques are intentionally short and realistic, designed for coaching life as it is: fast, full, and sometimes intense.
